Great Brickhill Our History

Setting out what we want to leave for those who follow us…

Great Brickhill Yesterday

A glimpse into Great Brickhill’s past through photographs entrusted to the Heritage Project.

This public Showcase presents twelve photographs selected from a collection of more than 1,750.

Welcome to Our Photograph Showcase

The photographs preserved by the Great Brickhill Heritage Project record village people, families, buildings, streets, events and moments from everyday life.

Some scenes may be immediately familiar. Others may show people, buildings or activities that have changed—or disappeared altogether.

How did this collection come together?

Many photographs have been entrusted to us by families living in the village. Others have come from former residents or relatives who now live much farther away but retain a strong connection with Great Brickhill.

Some contributors visited us personally to hand over treasured family photographs. Others contacted us while researching their family history and discovering photographs and memories that they wanted to share with the wider village community.

These contributors care deeply about Great Brickhill’s heritage. They want their photographs and memories to be preserved, understood and enjoyed by others.

We hope that we have done justice to the trust they have placed in us.
